Should I spend the $500 that I really don't have to ensure that I don't have Lyme? Or should I wait and get the more basic tests done first, try those treatments and see if I get better first? MEH! This is SOOO frustrating! It's a stretch for me to be able to pay to see him period, as he is not covered by insurance either. However, this costs $500 and I am currently struggling financially. He is not convinced that I have Lyme, but does think that since I have only had an ELISA that it would be a good idea to get the Igenex test done. I am also going to labcore to some of the more routine tests that insurance should cover i.e. I started off with a food allergy test - I have tested positive for fructose intolerance in the past, but I guess this test is much more extensive. There are a number of tests that he wants to take, but of course they are all pricey and most are not covered by insurance. At this point he feels that the cause of my symptoms and years of bad health could be from a number of things. I had 16 out of 18 tender points for fibro (as always) and also tested positive for neuro-toxins with the eye test. After going over my history for about an hour, he did a physical exam. He also specializes in Lyme and other co-infections. Hi, So I went to see my new fibro specialist.
